4 . Weddings
4 . 1 - What is a Bridesmaids Duty?
To walk down the aisle as a special attendant to the brides wedding. To help choose the Bridesmaid's dress/es and to assist with the bridal shower (if having one)
It is also her responsibilty for the payment of her own BM dress as acceptance for becoming the bridesmaid. Assistance on the wedding day to help with any of the Brides requests.
4 . 2 - What is a Head bridesmaid's duty?
She is the brides right hand girl. She MUST be at least 18 years old and able to assist with the brides every detail on the day. She will also be a witness for her on her wedding day as well as hold her flowers while the brides vows are being said. She is her confidant. She arranges the hens night.
4 . 3 - What is the Best Man duty?
Again 18 years or older, as he will be a witness to your wedding, to arrange the Bucks party and to hold the wedding rings if no ring bearer is apparent. Be the Grooms right hand guy. Usually the first person to make a speech on the wedding day and including the telegrams or emails and inabiltiy letters. Toast to the Bride and Groom.
4 . 4 - Do the groomsmen have a duty?
First and foremost, to assist the Groom with his needs on the wedding day, assisting with the Bestman with the Bucks night and escorting the bridesmaids down the aisle as well as the ushering of guests and formalities of the nights following procedures. The reading out of fun toasts for the reception and thanking the bridesmaids.
4 . 5 - Do the flower girl and pageboy have a duty too?
The flowergirl and pageboy are aged below 9 usually. The flowergirl throws rosepetals on the aisle as a symbol of good luck and the Page boy bearers the rings in safe keeping until the much needed time to hand them over.
4 . 6 - Do I really have to have wedding Attendants? I cant choose and i didn't want a big wedding?
The simple answer is no, but you MUST have at least one witness each to sign the marriage licence and they must be over 18 years of age. If you want just all Groomsmen or all Bridesmaids, you can too. There is no set rule.
4 . 7 - I cant choose on all the venues that I have looked at? Is there something I should know about the venue choice to help me decide?
There are usually 10 simple rules we follow.
Price, location, parking, the facilities available, time of year, Inclusions, overall ambience, room layout and setup and the flexibility of the venue. For further information on this question and answer, please contact Magical Events, although if you have hired a wedding planner, they can take this stress off your hands so you can enjoy your day and not have you to worry about this information as it it thier duty to advise you anyway.
4 . 8 - Are the services for a wedding planner expensive?
It was once suggested that only the rich could afford a wedding planner but in today's society, there are affordable package choices and various options to suit your individual requirements.
4 . 9 - Why use a wedding planner when we can just do it all ourselves?
Wedding planners know the industry and the suppliers. They know which suppliers are dependable and who to steer clear of! Planners generally have an extensive network of contacts and can get better prices on services than the wedding couple can. Remember, we do this as a daily job and know the rules, the questions and what to ask, how to divert problems and fix them efficently and how to manage time effectively. A good planner will always have a Plan B for inclement weather. Great planners never leave anything to chance. Couples should focus on enjoying their wedding day with family and friends and save money and time by leaving the planning to seasoned professionals.
4 . 10 - How far in advance do I need to book my reception venue?
The demand for venues grows stronger every year, so we recommend booking your venue 12-24 months in advance.
4 . 11 - How far in advance do I need to organise a photographer/ videographer?
We suggest you make your booking at least 12-18 months before your wedding.
4 . 12 - How long until I will recieve my video from my wedding?
Most often 6-8 months after your wedding is the normal time to recieve your video. A lot of editing and proofing needs to be completed so this takes time.
4 . 13 - When should I organise transport?
You need to book transport 12-24 months in advance, especially if your bridal party is large and in need of a 10 -14 seater car.
Remember to book another car for after the reception to your hotel!
4 . 14 - When do I need to book the church/garden/registrar?
It pays to organise these venues well in advance. We recommend booking your preferred location 12-18 months in advance.
4 . 15 - When should I start looking for a bridal gown?
It is important to allow plenty of time to find the perfect gown. It can take 9-12 months to select or make a gown, and numerous fittings may be required.
4 . 16 - Where should I look for bridesmaids dresses?
Bridesmaids dresses can be found at eveningwear retailers, bridal shops and high quality department stores. It really pays to shop around, as you might find the ideal gown at a much cheaper price in a different store. Don’t forget to check out the sales – you never know when you might find a bargain!
4 . 17 - How long does it take to organise bridal party dresses and suits?
Allow 3-4 months to purchase a ready-made gown or around 6 months if you are having your bridesmaids’ dresses tailor made. Suits can be hired or purchased from a large number of outlets, so finding the right menswear should not take as long. Children on the other hand, you should purchase one size up or leave till 6 weeks prior unless having them tailor made.
4 . 18 - When do I need to book a hair and makeup artist/s.
Like your celebrant and photographer, you need to be comfortable with your look and the person doing it on the day. It could take time to find the right one your comfortable with. These professionals should be sourced 9-12 months before the big day.
4 . 19 - Can you help me to find the right look for my hair and makeup?
We can put you in touch with great hair stylists and make up artists to discuss your choices and help you to make these important decisions.
4 . 20 - How far in advance do I need to order flowers?
Florists like to source the most perfect blooms for your bouquets, corsages and table arrangements, so bookings should be made 3-4 months before your wedding day. In some cases, orders are shipped from interstate or overseas, which can take extra time.
4 . 21 - When should I start looking for accessories?
You might like to wait until your wedding gown has been chosen before selecting your accessories. We can recommend great accessory retailers to help you to find the perfect look. We suggest allowing 3-4 months to find the right accessories or the bridal shop your bought your gown from may already have these accessories for you to purchase.
4 . 22 - When should I order the cake?
We suggest you order your cake 2 - 3 months prior to your wedding.
4 . 23 - What flavour wedding cake can I have and can I have mutiple flavours?
Fruit cake has traditionally been used for wedding cakes, but many other delicious wedding cakes are now also available such as chocolate mud cake, white chocolate mud, butter cake, carrot cake and marble cake to name a few. Cupcakes can even be made in your specified flavour with a 6 inch cake on the top for you to cut. Cupcakes also save you money as you don’t get charged for the cutting, garnishing and serving of the cake to your guests.
4 . 24 - When is the best time to send out invitations?
It all depends when your big day is but 8-12 weeks is usually enough time to send the invites. Don’t leave it too late as many of your guests will have things planned in advance. You may need to allow more time if your wedding is at the start of the year or you have overseas/ overeast guests. Your invitations can be caught up in the annual Christmas card rush, so send early to make sure your invite gets to its proposed destination in time and guests have ample time to RSVP.
4 . 25 - When are the seasons in Perth?
Our seasons are:
Spring – September to November
Summer – December to February
Autumn – March to May
Winter – June to August
With the way Perth’s weather has been over the last year, don’t be surprised to get rain in summer and sunny warm days in winter.
4 . 26 - What is the cheapest month to get married?
The only answer to this is winter. Most vendors and venues are willing to discount their services to you because the wedding industry is slow at this time.
